She Couldn't Light a Candle. Now She Can. — and that's just one of the ways alcohol freedom changed everything for Sandra Draper.

Sandra Draper is a senior government executive based in Western Australia. She's sharp, values-driven, deeply faithful — and for years, she was quietly struggling with her relationship with alcohol.

It didn't start as a problem. It rarely does. A glass of wine with dinner. A reward after a long week. Something to take the edge off during one of the hardest seasons of her life — caring full-time for her terminally ill husband while working a demanding job.

But over time, alcohol was taking more than it was giving. She felt out of alignment with her own integrity. She was going to work under par. And she was too afraid to light a candle at night in case she passed out and forgot to blow it out.

That detail stopped me when she said it. Because it's not dramatic — and that's exactly the point. You don't have to be losing everything on the outside for alcohol to be quietly costing you on the inside.

Sandra came to coaching not because she'd hit rock bottom, but because she was curious. She wanted to understand the science behind why willpower alone kept failing her. She wanted to walk 100 kilometers of the Camino de Santiago. She wanted to remember her life.

And she did all of it.

Today she lights the candle. She hikes with her group. She meets friends at bars and orders mocktails without a second thought. She's present, healthy, and finally back in alignment with who she really is.

If any part of her story sounds familiar, I'd love to talk. Email me at [email protected] or head to the link in my bio to learn more about working together — no obligation, no white-knuckling, just science-backed techniques that actually work.
