Does This Sound Like You?

You work hard, take care of yourself, and promise every Monday that next weekend will be different.

But by Friday, the memory of how bad you felt has softened. “I worked hard. I deserve this.” “It wasn’t that bad.” “I can handle it this time.”

Then the weekend gets away from you again—and Monday comes with anxiety, exhaustion, brain fog, and regret.

You are not weak, broken, or lacking discipline. You are caught in a cycle your brain has learned to repeat.

Inside This Free Guide, You’ll Discover:

Why Monday Feels So Bad

Learn what’s behind the anxiety, brain fog, and regret that often follow a weekend of drinking.

What Is It About Fridays?

Why does your Monday motivation fade by the time Friday rolls around?

The Thoughts That Pull You Back In

“I deserve this.” “Maybe this time will be different.” “How will I have fun?” “What will people think if I’m not drinking?”

How to Set Up a Better Monday

Get simple tools to stay connected to the Monday you want—before Friday gets away from you.

I Know This Cycle Because I Lived It for Decades.

For decades, I told myself I had it handled.

I did not drink every day. During the week, I trained hard, ate well, worked, and checked every healthy box.

Then Friday came.

A couple of drinks became far more than I planned. By Sunday, I felt so bad I could barely function—foggy, anxious, ashamed, and trying to act fine while the day slipped away.

Monday meant dragging myself to workouts, drinking water, and getting “back on track.” But I was still flat, hungover, and barely showing up for my life.

What confused me most was that by Thursday or Friday, I felt better. The regret had softened. The familiar thoughts returned:

“I worked hard. I deserve this.”
“It wasn’t that bad.”
“This time will be different.”

I did not have a name for it then. Now I know this is part of fading affect bias: the painful feelings from the weekend fade, while the promise of the next drink starts sounding convincing again.

I created this guide because you are not weak or lacking discipline. You can learn to notice this cycle before the familiar Friday story takes over—and take your first step toward a different weekend and a better Monday.

Meet Maureen Benkovich

I’m Maureen Benkovich, founder of Sober Fit Chick, alcohol freedom coach, speaker, author, and host of the Sober Fit Life podcast.

I help health-focused, high-achieving people understand why alcohol keeps pulling them back into the same weekend cycle — without shame, labels, or “just try harder” advice.

My work blends lived experience, neuroscience, nervous system support, and practical coaching tools so you can stop treating Monday like damage control and start creating weekends that actually support the life you want.

This guide is your first step.

Not a label.
Not a lecture.
Just a clearer way to understand what’s happening — and what can begin to change.

Maureen  is a genuine, authentic, capable and knowledgeable, equipped Coach with a well developed and extremely impactful program.  She has travelled the journey of alcohol freedom herself and brings her insights and learnings to her program.  I would encourage you to invest in yourself and work with Maureen if you are curious, or want to make a choice to change drinking habit's.

— Sandra

Working with Maureen has been incredible. Her genuine care, positive energy, and thoughtful support made all the difference for me. She shares practical tools and personal stories that really resonate, helping me stay focused and confident throughout the journey. If you want a coach who’s authentic, encouraging, and truly invested in your success, Maureen’s the one.

— Michael

Working with Maureen has been transformational for me. I’ve gained so much self-awareness about my drinking patterns, learned practical tools that truly help, and made real progress in changing my relationship with alcohol. Her encouragement, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge made this work feel supportive, empowering, and far more impactful than trying to do it on my own.

T.D (Private Client and Couples Therapist)

“Before working with Maureen, I had tried everything—willpower, therapy, meetings, rewards—and nothing created lasting change. Maureen helped me understand the science behind alcohol and gave me tools that finally made this feel realistic.

Now I feel incredible. No hangovers, stronger relationships, better productivity, and alcohol no longer takes up the same space in my life.”

— Travis
