How Does It Work?


Week one:


During this first week you will stop trying to stop drinking…..that’s right you heard me…stop trying & get curious!



  • Self compassion & how to get out of the shame and blame cycle

  • How to Identify & Challenge your subconscious beliefs around alcohol that are keeping you stuck.

  • Awareness & understanding around your personal drinking triggers

Weeks 2-5:

  • Begin the 30 day alcohol experiment 

  • Using the ACT technique you will learn how to shift false beliefs that are no longer serving you. 

  • Build your healthy habit change toolbox to experience lasting mindset shifts


Week 6:

Make a plan to help you move forward with all that you have learned about yourself after going through the 30 day alcohol reset!



  • Content emailed daily with journal prompts and a downloadable journal/workbook

  • Bite-sized educational video content

  • 5 x 1-hour live group coaching zoom calls with me, Maureen Benkovich, certified This Naked Mind Coach. (replays will be made available if you cannot attend a live call)

  • What if I’ve done other challenges in the past and they haven’t worked?
    You are not alone! The majority of challenges rely on willpower. During the 5 week Sober October you will learn why that isn't the most effective way to control alcohol. We will get to the root of your beliefs so you can be empowered to make more informed choices! This time will be different!
  • What if I don’t think I want to be sober?
    No pressure here! This program is all about identifying your beliefs and how to unravel your own personal relationship with alcohol. My only goal is to offer you a shift in your perspective and to show you some neuroscience behind why you might be drinking more than you would like to. You get to decide what making alcohol small & irrelevant in your life means to you.
  • What are the live coaching calls like?
    You and the other Sober October participants will meet together weekly on Zoom with Maureen, a certified This Naked Mind coach. Together, we will work through specific obstacles that come up during the coursework. If you cannot attend the live sessions, you can submit questions ahead of time and watch the replay.
  • How much time will this take?
    The time commitment is designed to be both manageable and impactful. Each week features a one-hour group coaching call with me, where you'll have the opportunity to share and learn from one another, gaining essential insights and action plans for the week ahead. In addition to these calls, you'll have access to bite-sized motivational videos that are easy to digest and designed to keep you engaged. To supplement your experience, a comprehensive workbook is provided for exercises and daily journaling. Taking a few minutes each day to record your thoughts and realizations can make a significant difference in your journey. Remember, the more effort and commitment you invest, the more rewarding your experience will be. If you happen to miss a day or two, don't worry—catching up is simple and flexible.
  • What days are the group sessions and what if the time doesn't work for me?
    Our first call will be Sunday October 8th time TBD by the group participants. On our first call we will set the other calls based on majority, shooting for Sunday or Monday evenings. If you can’t attend a live session, you can submit your questions in advance and watch the replay at your convenience!
